This week the Executive Team and University leadership met with members of the Board of Trustees in the Inclusive Excellence (IE), Academic Excellence and Student Success(AESS)-Precollege, and AESS-University committee meetings. We shared updates and engaged in discussion on several key topics, including campus belonging and inclusive excellence efforts and the Board’s own inclusive excellence work; academic transformation; student retention; the State and School Partnership Initiative (SSPI); and the Regional Acquisition of Language (REAL) project.
Additional Board committee meetings, including Strategic Finance and Institutional Resources, will be held in September and October. The full Board will return to campus for meetings October 21–23.
We also continued work to finalize the metrics for Phase III of the Gallaudet Promise. This phase will focus on Gallaudet's future, with clear measures to track our progress toward university priorities. We will share more information about the plan and the process this fall.
Finally, this week marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We recognize that this milestone may bring back vivid memories and emotions for many in our community, and we take a moment to reflect on that day.
